Rainwater purifying filter, how to do it in an easy and ecological way

Steps to Build Your Filter
1. Prepare the Container
Set up a large container. Drill a hole for a spigot if needed and place it under a downspout.
2. Add Large Gravel Layer
Add 1–2 inches of large gravel at the bottom to catch larger debris.
3. Add Small Gravel and Sand
Layer 1–2 inches of small gravel over the large gravel, followed by 2–3 inches of sand for finer filtration.
4. Add Activated Charcoal
Spread 1–2 inches of activated charcoal on top to absorb impurities.
5. Cover with Cheesecloth
Place cheesecloth over the top to keep debris out and hold layers in place.
6. Position and Collect
Set the filter under your water collection area, like a gutter downspout.
7. Maintenance
Rinse the cheesecloth monthly and replace charcoal every few months.
