1. Select Your Pineapple
Choose a ripe pineapple with green leaves.
2. Prepare the Crown
Twist or cut off the top, peel a few lower leaves, and let dry for 1–2 days.
Place in water to root, changing water every 2–3 days.
3. Transfer to Soil
Use a medium pot with drainage and well-draining soil.
Plant the crown so the leaf base is above the soil.
4. Provide Sunlight
Ensure at least 6–8 hours of light daily. Use a grow light if needed.
5. Water and Humidity
Water when soil is dry on top, and mist leaves occasionally for humidity.
6. Fertilize Occasionally
Fertilize monthly during growth; reduce in winter.
7. Be Patient for Fruiting
Pineapples can take 2–3 years to fruit. To encourage, place a ripe apple near the plant for ethylene gas.
Common Issues
Yellowing: Sign of overwatering—adjust accordingly.
